The stories she tells of her romance and love at first sight has earned her the acclaim of many in the 21st Century. Swift started to exhibit an desire to work in the industry from a very young age. The trajectory of her career was rapid starting with children's roles to her first public appearance before a crowd of thousands. It was at the age of 11 when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. in the next year she picked up the guitar, and began writing songs. Inspiring herself by country music artists such as Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original songs that were a reflection of her own experiences of tween alienation. When she was 13 Swift's parents decided to sell their property in Pennsylvania and moved in Hendersonville Tennessee so she could dedicate more time interacting with country artists within the vicinity of Nashville.
